How it feels to win

The bottom feels lonely.

The middle feels competitive.

The top feels expansive.

Sometimes, I have great ideas on my own.

But most times, the good stuff comes from talking with founders.

The above quote goes in the Top 10 founder quotes I've heard in the last year.

Here's why it's awesome:

Entrepreneurship involves a lot of feelings.

  • High highs

  • Low lows

  • So so so so SO much insecurity

  • Delusions of grandeur

  • 😱

  • Excitement!

  • Boredom

  • How did I get here? (...and the days go by)

  • This is fine 🔥

  • Is this... forever?

It's just All the feelings.

Entrepreneurship is emotional.

But it's also predictable:

At the bottom, it’s just you.

  • No one’s calling.

  • No one’s watching.

  • You’re guessing.

  • You’re hoping.

  • You feel like a fraud.

In the middle, the pressure sets in.

  • You’re fundraising, hiring, selling, being judged.

  • You look around and think, “How are they doing it?”

  • You start comparing, contorting, chasing growth just to keep pace.

At the top, everything opens.

  • You stop reacting.

  • You start shaping.

  • There’s room to think big, partner well, and act from vision instead of fear.

These feelings?

They’re not flaws.

They're normal.

AND They’re signals.

Often, they can tell you more about where you're at in the market

Than even your metrics do.

Even better, the correlation between stage and mindset goes both ways.

So, if you're feeling lonely — start competing

If you're feeling competitive — stop comparing and start thinking bigger.

This is all just part of the game.

So take a breath —

We've all been there.
